Update 5


Hello!

After a lot of hard work with the new art assets, I've finally got the chance to make a new playable.

Lots of small improvements over the last two months. Here's a list of the major things that are different from the last build.

  •  New enemy sprites, new player animations, new environment effects, lighting and post processing
  •  Remaining time now reflects as fluid in the walls
  •  Reload Cancelling - Melee and Deflect attacks will cancel the reload animation and give you a full clip
  •  Progression - Levels now end with mini bosses, introducing mechanics in sequence
  •  Sensitivity Scroll - Scroll wheel sets sensitivity in Tutorial section

The randomizer in the demo is disabled so it's the same two levels in succession till you reach the exit.

The game is missing some prompts so just hit the left mouse button in the main menu to start playing.

This update is Windows only. I have a new library I'm using which makes it a slight process to compile to different platforms. Soon.

I would love to hear your feedback! The game is still rough around the edges but this is coming very close to essentially what the core loop of the full game will feel like.

playing update 5 on linux through wine, ran well until I hit this crash, not sure if it's a wine issue or a regular bug

Really enjoying this new update! One thing I think could make it a little bit better is to let you kill with your knife without having to go into the animation where the enemy is about to stab you. I've died a lot using the knife too early haha

Thanks for trying it out!! I see what you mean, I myself have had trouble with that every time I adjust the melee distance/timing. It's not very clear at the moment when exactly the knife is "enabled" so I'll try to fix that with the next update. Free melee is something I want to avoid for this game tho because I'm going for the animation-locked QTE style actions

I see what you mean, yeah. I get that there's gonna be a learning curve because I'm not used to the flow of the game yet. I appreciate it though ^^
